Born in Sanremo and graduated in Philosophy, Paolo has taken part — as a representative of the G. Cortesi Museum — in scientific and mountaineering expeditions to Himalayan regions in Ladakh (India) in 1987, Tibet in 1990, Ladakh–Zanskar in 1998, and the Ural mountain range in Western Siberia in 1992. He is co-author of several volumes presenting the results of these expeditions, including ‘Alla ricerca di un oceano scomparso’, ‘Tethys’, ‘Ural’, and ‘Sulle tracce di Cesare Calciati’, published in Piacenza. A founding member of the “Malena” Archaeological Association in Piacenza (1996), he has participated in archaeological and paleontological excavations in the local area. He attended a specialized course in underwater archaeology in Ustica in 1997 focused on underwater excavation techniques. Specialized in cultural journeys, he has been working as a tour guide with Kel 12 since 2004.

Born in Aswan and now based in Luxor, in the heart of Upper Egypt, Antonios lives daily surrounded by the millennial history of the Pharaohs. After learning Italian at the Salesian Institute in Cairo in 1997, he chose to turn his passion for Egyptian culture into a profession, graduating in 2000 from Cairo University in Tourism and Hospitality, specializing as a licensed tour guide. He began his career as an Italian and English-speaking tour guide, an experience that, from 2000 to 2004, helped him build strong communication skills and close contact with travelers. He later fully embraced his role as an Egyptologist guide in both languages, gaining more than twenty years of field experience. He describes himself as a cultural guide and, above all, a passionate storyteller, always ready to share Egypt’s beauty, history, and hidden meanings with those eager to discover the land of the Pharaohs.

Cultural guide and passionate scholar, Refaat holds a degree in Italian Language and Literature from Cairo. He later focused his studies on Ecclesiastical History and Coptic Religion, a subject he currently teaches at the Coptic Studies Center in Cairo. A poetry translator and interpreter, Refaat combines deep historical knowledge with a rare sensitivity in narrating ancient Egypt, with particular attention to Coptic religion, the role of the clergy, and the great female figures of the Pharaonic world. His expert guidance and gentle approach turn every journey through Egypt into an authentic discovery, offering a cultural perspective closely connected to the millennial roots of one of the world’s most fascinating civilizations.

Archaeologist and Egyptologist born in Italy from Egyptian parents, Lobna graduated from the University of Pisa and specialized in ceramic studies, particularly as a key element of material culture capable of revealing new aspects of the social history of ancient Egypt. She has gained solid museum experience, collaborating for over ten years with an archaeological museum on educational projects and exhibition design focused on the Neolithization of the Mediterranean and the origins of writing in Egypt and Mesopotamia. Alongside this work, she has delivered lectures and helped organizing academic events, including international conferences. Passionate about public outreach, she has developed hands-on archaeology workshops for adults and young people, encouraging direct dialogue with the past. Traveling with her means discovering an authentic Egypt through a historical, archaeological, and human perspective of the inhabitants that built the foundations of one of the most extraordinary civilizations of history.

Graduated in Archaeology and currently specializing in Classical Archaeology at the University of Milan, he has taken part in numerous excavation campaigns in Greece and Southern Italy. His research activity focuses mainly on ceramic finds and on exchange and interaction dynamics among ancient peoples. He also collaborates regularly with the Civic Archaeological Museum G. Sutermeister in Legnano, his hometown. Naturally curious and an avid reader, he developed an early interest in the world’s cultures and regions, which he continues to explore through both study and travel.

With Polish, Bohemian, and Swiss roots, Marino Keller Bard was almost destined to become a traveler — a true family calling. Curious about everything, he is drawn to diversity, especially people, cultures, and traditions. Step by step, collecting unique and unrepeatable experiences, he has visited over one hundred countries and feels at home in many of them thanks to long and repeated stays. He has worked with several travel agencies as a technical director, but office life never suited him, leading him to become a full-time tour leader. In the 1980s he first encountered the Sahara — and it was love at first sight. Countless expeditions followed, led with passion and expertise. Africa, Asia, and Latin America are his preferred destinations, including journeys that are still difficult to replicate today, such as crossing the African equator in the footsteps of nineteenth-century explorers. An expert in rock art and prehistory, with a strong passion for archaeology and history, he has produced photographic reportages published by several editors and contributed to conferences, magazines, and newspapers. A true citizen of the world, when not traveling he lives in Venice, where he gladly returns to plan new journeys and enjoy his passion for sailing. He holds a degree in Demographic Sciences.
